Is my home suitable for an EV charging station?
One of our qualified electricians will need to check your existing electrical wiring, consumer unit and overall capacity to ensure it can handle an EV charging point. You will need to have an off-street parking space (e.g. a driveway or garage) where the charger can be installed, plus a good Wi-Fi connection so that the smart charger can connect to the Internet.

Do I need to ask for permission to get an EV charger installed?
You likely do not need to get planning permission for an EV charger if you have off-street parking as this falls under permitted development rights. Permission is required, however, if you are in a conservation area or a listed building, or if you don’t have your own off-street parking space.

I rent my home – can I have an EV charger?
Yes, you can still get an EV charger installed as long as you get written permission from your landlord first. If you live in a multi-apartment building with a shared parking space or metering room, you will also need to get permission from the other tenants.
